Cherry Compote with European cherries

Cherry Compote:

  • Ingredients:
    • 2 cups of fresh European cherries
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Instructions:
    1. In a saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, water, and lemon juice.
    2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cherries break down and the mixture thickens (about 10-15 minutes).
    3. Remove from heat and let it cool.
    4. Serve the cherry compote over ice cream, yogurt, or pancakes.
