Cherry Almond Tart with European cherries

Cherry Almond Tart:

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
    • 1 cup of fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
    • 1/4 cup almond meal
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Instructions:
    1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and transfer it to a baking sheet.
    3. In a bowl, mix the almond meal and sugar.
    4. Sprinkle the almond mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
    5. Arrange the European cherries on top of the almond mixture.
    6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the cherries to create a rustic tart.
    7. Beat the egg and brush it over the pastry for a golden finish.
    8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the cherries are bubbly.
    9. Let it cool slightly before serving.
